Goods and Services Tax is an indirect tax levied on the supply of goods and service. It is an Indirect tax which was introduced on July 1st 2017, to replace other Indirect taxes such as value added tax, service tax, purchase tax, excise duty. Any company that is eligible under GST must register itself in the GST portal created by the Government of India. For businesses, registration under GST is mandatory. If the organization carries on business without registering under GST, it will be an offence under GST and heavy penalties will apply
